PELLA, Iowa - Piper Bain was fourth, Morghen Philippi ninth and Jamie Hoornaert 17th as the St. Olaf women's cross country team finished third at the NCAA Division III Central Region Championships on Saturday at Central College. 

The University of St. Thomas and Carleton finished first and second in the event, clinching automatic berths to the NCAA Championships next weekend. The Oles will await Sunday's selection to see if they are awarded one of the 16 at-large bids. 

Jena Moody and Susan Hoops were the Oles' fourth and fifth scorers, finishing 55th and 79th in the 205-runner field.
