MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Six athletes from the St. Olaf track and field team competed at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse on Friday night.
Jake Campbell led a competitive field in the mile to win the event in 4:10.32, less than a second away from the meet record held by 2014 Olaf grad
Brian Saksa. Â Campbell's time in the mile is the second fastest in Division III athletics this spring. Â Teammates
Paul Escher and
Jacob Eggers each ran season best times of 4:12.23 and 4:18.74 to finish second and fifth.
In the 400m,
James McFarlin finished third in a time of 50.89. Â
Sean Bjork ran in the 800 for the Oles, and posted a time of 1:57.18 to finish 10th overall.
Phil Meyer ran to a second place finish in the 3000m run in a time of 8:32.33. Â Meyer is returning to form quickly after missing much of the season due to injury. Â
St. Olaf hosts the Tostrud Classic tomorrow at Tostrud Center with the first events beginning at 11:00 AM.
