Six Oles compete at Snowshoe Open

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Six athletes from the St. Olaf track and field team competed at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse on Friday night.

Jake Campbell led a competitive field in the mile to win the event in 4:10.32, less than a second away from the meet record held by 2014 Olaf grad Brian Saksa.  Campbell's time in the mile is the second fastest in Division III athletics this spring.  Teammates Paul Escher and Jacob Eggers each ran season best times of 4:12.23 and 4:18.74 to finish second and fifth.

In the 400m, James McFarlin finished third in a time of 50.89.  Sean Bjork ran in the 800 for the Oles, and posted a time of 1:57.18 to finish 10th overall.

Phil Meyer ran to a second place finish in the 3000m run in a time of 8:32.33.  Meyer is returning to form quickly after missing much of the season due to injury.

St. Olaf hosts the Tostrud Classic tomorrow at Tostrud Center with the first events beginning at 11:00 AM.
