MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - St. Olaf traveled to the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse to compete in the Parents Day Open on Saturday afternoon.
The Ole track and field team featured a number of personal bests and top ten finishes on the day.
In the sprinting events, the Oles were led by Abby Stets and
Madison VanWylen. Â Stets ran a personal best in both 60m (10th- 8.23) and the 200m (7th- 26.88), while VanWylen finished 14th the 200m (27.30), and ran a season best in the 600m, finishing in eighth with a time of 1:39.82.
Jordan Lutz was the top freshman in a competitive 800m field. Â Lutz finished in 2:20.79 for a sixth place finish, and Susie Hoops followed in fifteenth with a time of 2:30.83.
St. Olaf had two strong duos in the distance events. Â
Amy Waananen and
Kelsey Coulter finished seventh and eighth in the 3000m and
Michaela Banz and
Morghen Philippi finished second and third in the 5000m.
Leading the Oles in the field events,
Emma Fulton finished fifth in the pole vault with a height of 3.02 meters and
Michaela Bolden finished eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 13.40 meters.
The Oles will race again at home on Friday for the Ole Open Qualifier. Â The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 PM.
