Paul Escher and
Aaron Dunphy each took runner-up honors at the first outdoor meet of the season for the St. Olaf men's track team.
Escher advanced three positions over the final 200 meters to place second in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:53.11. Â Dunphy surged out of the blocks to finish second in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.84.
The Oles placed three in the top ten in a competitive 1500 field. Â
Joe Coffey ran a personal best of 3:55.33 to finish third, and
Jacob Eggers and
Sean Bjork rallied to finish sixth and ninth overall. Â
Kevin Skrip competed in a trio of sprinting events including the 100 (11th, 11.24), 200 (16th, 23.11) and the 4x400 meter relay. Â The relay team, consisting of
Justin Elstad, Joey Pugh,
Austin Redfield and Skrip finished fifth with a time of 3:26.22.
The TomCat Twilight meet on Thursday marks the next date of competition for the Oles.
