NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Jake Campbell captured the individual title as he led the Oles to a team victory at the Oles first 8k of the season.

Campbell broke away with 500 meters remaining in the race to win with a time of 25:20.2.  Christian Leitner of UW-Eau Claire was the runner-up finishing three seconds off Campbell.  Calvin Lehn was the second finisher for the Oles with an eighth place finish in 25:46.9 and Paul Escher finished 11th overall.  Keith Ketola and Sean Bjork rounded out the top five for St. Olaf both with top 25 finishes.

St. Olaf scored 59 points, 14 ahead of runner up UW-Eau Claire, who put three runners within the top seven this morning.

St. Olaf will return to competition on Oct. 2 at the Blugold Invitational.
