ResultsFALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - The St. Olaf Women's cross country team scored 51 to finish one point behind Wellesley to place second as a team on Saturday morning at the Roy Griak Invitational.
The Oles had three sub-24 minute performances coming from
Morghen Philippi (3rd - 23:34.2),
Piper Bain (4th - 23:40.6) and
Jamie Hoornaert (6th - 23:46.0). The scoring was completed by
Josefine Brekke and
Jordan Lutz who finished 18th and 20th respectively.
St. Olaf, currently ranked 29th in DIII as of Wednesday, Sept. 23, finished a comfortable 16 points ahead of 23rd rated St. Thomas. The champions from Wellesley are not currently in the top 35 in the DIII rankings.
The Individual champion was Macalester's Kimber Meyer who rallied around the six kilometer course in 22:57.8.
The Oles compete next at the Blugold Invitational on Friday in Eau Claire, Wis.
