Joe Coffey won the individual title by a 10-second margin in 25:56.9 as the 16th-ranked St. Olaf men's cross country team won its fifth straight MIAC Championship.Â
Sophomores Alex Berhe was fifth overall (26:17.3) and
William Anderson 10th (26:43.2), while senior
Jacob Eggers was 12th (26:45.5) as St. Olaf had seven runners in the top 20. First year
Jack Henschel was 16th (26:48.3), sophomore
Thomas Lerdall 18th in 26:51.3 and
Eric Bakken 20th in 26:54.2.Â
Saint John's was second with 66 points, behind the Oles' 44, while Gustavus was third with 77. St. Thomas (111) was fourth and Carleton (140) fifth.
Coffey's win marked the fifth straight St. Olaf runner to win the league crown. Grant Wintheiser won three straight from 2012-14 before
Jake Campbell won last year. It was the eighth time an Ole won the event since 2004, joining Kelly Fulton (2004), Sam Hauck (2005) and Duboul Ruon (2008).Â
