ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's track and field team competed at the St. Thomas Showcase on Friday afternoon.

Kevin Skrip and Joe Coffey each collected an individual victory in the 600 and the 1000 respectively.  Skrip finished with a time of 1:24.95.  There were four finishers within two seconds of Skrip, including Calvin Knickerbocker, who finished fifth with a split of 1:26.86.

Coffey won the 1000 with a final time of 2:29.25, less than a second off of the St. Olaf school record.  Sean Bjork was second, following Coffey in a time of 2:32.59.

The Oles had another breakout performance with Ryan Van Mechelen running a 2:01.49 in the 800 meter race to place ninth.  James McFarlin finished third in the 400, rounding the indoor track twice in 50.15

The Oles return to the track next weekend at the Snoeshoe Invite on Friday night and the Tostrud Open at Tostrud on Saturday.
