ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The St. Olaf baseball team was swept by the Bethel Royals 11-5 and 3-2 in a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at Hargis Park.
Game One: Bethel 11, St. Olaf 5The first two innings were eventful for the Oles as they went up 3-0 over the Royals. Bethel, however took over in the third inning and went on to score in every inning from then on.
St. Olaf had just seven hits to Bethel's 16 and was led by
Kap Davis and
Tim Maus who had two apiece, along with a homerun from
Joe Keiski.Â
Game Two: Bethel 3, St. Olaf 2Game two started off slow compared to game one. St. Olaf was stagnant on the hitting front again in game two. Bethel had three pitchers on the mound throughout the game, M. Bohlke was given the win after two innings pitched and four strikeouts.Â
Sam Stuckmayer and
Thomas Peterson had a double apiece. Peterson also had two RBIs for the Oles.
Kap Davis had a stolen base and a hit.Â
St. Olaf will open at home vs. Carleton College on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
