ResultsST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's track team competed at the Holst Invitational at Concordia University on Saturday afternoon.
The Oles had strong performances in the sprinting events, with
Joe Pugh leading the charge in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.10 and
Sean Bjork closing to finish in 52.80. Â
James McFarlin and
Logan Weiss went 16th and 30th in the 100 meter dash with respective times of 10.93 and 11.28. Â McFarlin also finished 13th in the 200 in 22.35 seconds.
St. Olaf fielded a deep squad in the 1500 meter run with
Andrew Plumb (4:18.67),
Justin Furcich (4:19.56),
Alec Kirtley (4:21.65),
Liam Getzloff (4:24.43) and
Derek DeBlieck (4:24.86) rounding out the top five Ole finishers on the day.
Success met the Oles in the field events as well as
Ethan Lunning threw the hammer 46.34 to place 15th overall and
Trevor Stewart jumped to 28th place with a flight of 6.00 meters in the long jump.
The Oles return to competition with a split squad on Friday at the Phil Esten Challenge in La Crosse, Wis. and Saturday at the Carleton Relays held at Laird Stadium across the Cannon River.
