Madison Van Wylen took third place and
Sarah Bond placed 12th in the MIAC heptathlon championships contested on Thursday and Friday at Carleton College.
Van Wylen, who was the indoor pentathlon champion this winter, scored 4329 total points in the heptathlon, with most of those points coming from the 200 meter dash (26.39 seconds - 763 points), 100 meter hurdles (15.40 seconds - 790 points) and the 800 meter run (2:21.90 - 798 points). Â Bond collected 2727 points over the two day competition, grabbing 438 points from the 200 meter dash with a time of 30.64, and 544 points from the high jump where she cleared 1.43 meters.
The MIAC Championships continue next weekend at St. John's University. Â The Oles are also competing at the Meet of the Unsaintly today and Saturday at Hamline University.
