NORTHFIELD, Minn. -
Mary Naas and
Abby Stets both captured victories for the Oles as the St. Olaf women's track team competed at Carleton's Meet of Hearts on Saturday afternoon.
Naas cruised to a victory in the 5000 by almost 30 seconds, running a time of 18:02.19. Â
Jamie Hoornaert finished third in the event with a 18:53.63.
Stets won the 400 meter dash in 58.93. Â The 4x400 team from St. Olaf also won on the day as Stets,
Lisa Fisher,
Jena Moody, and
Susan Hoops ran a 4:08.05. Â The team of
Mackenzie Schoustra,
Lindsey Kemp,
Jessica Bentley, and
Allison Trezona was fourth in 4:21.31.
In the 55 meter hurdles, Scoustra and
Masha Grizhebovskaya qualified for finals where they finished third and eighth with times of 8.89 and 9.49 respectively. Â
The Oles also had a group of pole vaulters including:
Corinna Brown Ton (2.65m),
Avery Prine (2.65m),
Sam Waddell (2.50m), and
Maria Fulton (2.35m) who finished second through sixth in the event.
The next meet for St Olaf will be at the Tostrud Open next Saturday at home in Tostrud Center.
