Men's track competes in Carleton Relays

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - On Saturday afternoon, the St. Olaf men's track and field team finished fourth at the Carleton Relays hosted across the Cannon River at Laird Stadium.

The 4x100 meter relay team consisting of Logan Weiss, Justin Elstad, Joe Pugh, and Adam Kaiser finished second with a time of 43.31.  Weiss doubled back in the open 100 meters, running a 11.47 to finish third.

Pugh led the Oles in the 400, finishing second in 50.38.  Robbie Holmes and Andrew Morales were seventh and 17th with times of 52.55 and 53.81 respectively.

In the 1500, Jack Henschel was the first finisher for the Oles, running a season best of 3:59.25 to finish 4th in the meet.  Keith Ketola was close behind in 4:00.05, and William Anderson was seventh in 4:02.49.

In the field events, Jacob Gursky vaulted 4.31 meters to finish as the runner up, and Eli Knutson was sixth with a clearance of 4.02 meters.  Christopher Frick was third in the long jump, bounding 6.37 meters.

The Oles compete on Thursday night in the Macalester Twilight meet in St. Paul.
