LA CROSSE, Wis. - The St. Olaf men's track and field team competed in the Ashton May Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The meet opened with the 3000 meter steeplechase, with Paul Timm as the only competitor for the Oles.  Timm ran 9:59.17, scoring three points for the Oles on the team card while finishing sixth.

Matthew Paal qualified for the finals in the 110 meter hurdles, and finished sixth with a time of 15.61, and also scored in the 400 meter hurdles in seventh with a time of 57.16.  Benjamin Scott was 11th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 57.97.

Clearing 4.76 meters in the pole vault was Jacob Gursky, which put him tied for ninth in the meet.

In the mile, Joe Coffey was the runner up while running a time of 3:54.46, Sean Bjork was fifth in 3:56.66, and Jacob Eggers was sixth in 3:56.78.  

The Oles will compete next at the Tommie Twilight meet on Thursday evening.
