St. Olaf College Athletics

Arnie W. Nelson won nine St. Olaf letters – four in baseball, three in football, two in basketball. He was captain of the baseball team his senior year. He also coached football seven years at Northfield High School where he was athletic director three years. Nelson is now a building contractor. He was elected to the Northfield City Council for six years and office of mayor for three years. He is active at Bethel Lutheran Church as a church school teacher, superintendent and council member.
