Bruce Govig is the all-time leading scorer in men’s basketball history at St. Olaf. His 1,813 points have stood as the high mark for the program for over three decades. He was twice an All-MIAC selection, as he averaged 22.0 points a game in league play in 1978-79. He captained the team as a senior and was named the program’s most valuable player in the same season. Govig was a four-time letter winner at St. Olaf, starting 103 of the 104 games he appeared in. He continued his basketball career after graduation. Govig spend 12 seasons playing in Australia, and another five coaching. He and his wife, Pauline, reside in Adelaide, South Australia. They have one child, Nic.
