A four-year letter winner in two sports, Dan Halvorsen earned Little All American honors for tennis in 1971-72 and for basketball in 1972-73. Captain of the tennis team in 1972, Most Valuable Player in tennis from 1970 to 1973, and Most Valuable Player in basketball in 1973, he helped the tennis team win conference championships from 1970 to 1973 and the basketball team win conference titles in 1971 and 1972. He earned a master’s degree in nutrition/physiology in 1982 and a Ph.D. in 1986, both from the University of Minnesota. A leading researcher in health promotion, he is CEO/president of Lifestyle Design Inc. and Power^3 Inc. He lives with his family in Sunfish Lake, Minn.
