St. Olaf College Athletics

David Troy was a cross country standout and is the record holder in the one-mile run (4:11.2) and the two-mile run (9:11.2). He was named MVP in 1970. Troy returned to St. Olaf and coached the 1976 MIAC Championship cross country team. Professionally, he has garnered many awards as coach of both men’s and women’s cross country teams, including Coach of the Year. In addition to St. Olaf, he has coached in the Southeastern Conference, the Midwest Conference, the University of Colorado, the University of Alabama, and the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
