Fred J. Putzier won three All-State awards as a basketball guard. He won baseball batting championships in 1921, 1922 and 1923. He was football end in 1920, 1921 and 1922. Putzier also earned four letters each in basketball and baseball and three in football. He played semi-pro baseball and coached semi-pro basketball. He was treasurer of Ellsworth (Wis.) School Board, mayor of Ellsworth, member of Pierce County Board of Supervisors. He has retired from hotel and variety store business and is living in Prescott, Wis.
