Hal Bergeson was a four-time baseball letter winner and played on the 1949 MIAC baseball championship team. He was also a three-year football letter winner, and as a sophomore, he led the conference in passing yardage. Bergeson was a teacher and coach for many years, and was a sales manager for 26 years with World Book/Childcraft. In 1991, Bergeson retired and took a part-time position as a publisher for a home-building trade journal.
