Harry L. Newby was All-State quarterback and Minnesota champion in the 100-yard dash while winning ten letters in football, basketball and track. His football feats were featured twice in Ripley’s “Believe it or Not". He coached the Carlton (Minn.) high school basketball team to 128 straight conference wins. Newby is the register of deeds in Carlton County. He is also President of WDSE TV in Duluth.
