Jeanette Tuohy was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball. A two-time All-America middle blocker, she was a two-time first team all-conference selection and was all-conference honorable mention as a sophomore. As senior captain in 1997, she was named team MVP as well as the MIAC Player of the Year.

Tuohy helped the OLes make NCAA appearances in each season, reaching the first round in 1993, the quarterfinals in 1994 and 1995 and the semifinals in 1996. In her four seasons, St. Olaf won conference championships each season and compiled a 43-1 record in league play.

After graduating from St. Olaf, Tuohy taught English in South Korea for a year and, in 1999, volunteered in St. Paul with Americorps. In 2000, she word as a tutoring program manager for two years in Chicago before she worked as a Japan Exchange Teaching (JET) Programme Teacher from 2002-05. In 2006, Tuohy joined Learning for Leadership (a public charter school located in Minneapolis) working as a para-professional from 2006-07, then as an ESL teacher from 2007-08. She is currently in Hamline University's Graduate School of Education to get her Initial Teaching License for K-12 ESL (English as a second language).
