Jon Campbell '00 is one of two singles All-Americans in the history of the St. Olaf men's tennis program and is the only Ole to earn two All-America accolades in singles. He qualified for three national tournaments, earning a spot in the field of the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships in 1997 and 1998 and placing fifth nationally in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national tournament in 1998. Campbell competed as St. Olaf's number one singles player all four years and was ranked in the top 10 nationally following the fall 1998 ITA national tournament. Over the course of his career, Campbell went 42-5 in singles and 33-13 in doubles in regular-season dual matches.
Campbell made the singles quarterfinals of the ITA Midwestern Regional in each of his four seasons, highlighted by winning the title in 1998 and finishing as the runner-up in 1997. He also advanced to the semifinals of the regional tournament in each of his final two seasons and was a doubles quarterfinalist as a sophomore. Campbell was the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) runner-up at No. 1 singles twice (1996, 1998) and won the conference title at No. 1 doubles in 1999-00 with Pete Nau.
