Katie Detwiler was an 11-time MIAC champion and two-time NCAA qualifier during her four-year career at St. Olaf.

Detwiler was the MIAC champion in the 400-yard individual medley in each of her four seasons as an Ole, making her one of four student-athletes since 1985 to win four-straight conference titles in the same event.

She is also the only student-athlete in recorded MIAC history to win the 200-yard individual medley three years in a row, doing so in her final three seasons.

Detwiler also won the 1,650-yard freestyle as a first year and the 200-yard butterfly as a junior. After winning three individual conference crowns as a junior, she was named the 2004 MIAC Swimmer of the Year, making her one of two Oles to earn that honor since 2002.

Detwiler helped St. Olaf win a pair of MIAC team championships, as the Oles won conference titles in 2003 and 2005. St. Olaf finished in the top three at the conference meet in all four of her seasons.

As a junior, Detwiler broke the school record in the 200-yard individual medley (2:11.06), which now ranks third in the St. Olaf record book. Her times also rank in the top 10 in program history in the 400-yard individual medley (second), 200-yard butterfly (ninth), 1,650-yard freestyle (10th) and 1,000-yard freestyle (10th). Detwiler was also part of the 400-yard medley relay that ranks sixth all-time at St. Olaf.
