Keith Townsend remains the all-time leading point scorer in St. Olaf men’s hockey history after collecting 111 points over his four-year career.
One of eight Oles to play in at least 100 games in his career, Townsend tallied 35 goals and 76 assists in 103 games in a St. Olaf uniform. His 111 points are 25 more than any other student-athlete in recorded program history.
As a sophomore, Townsend posted career highs in goals (13), assists (24) and points (37), with the 37 points being the most by an Ole since at least 2000-01.
He earned All-MIAC honors as a sophomore and senior, when he recorded 26 points (seven goals, 19 assists) in 27 games. Townsend was also an Honorable Mention All-MIAC pick as a first year and as a junior.
As a senior, Townsend captained the team that advanced to the semifinals of the MIAC Playoffs. St. Olaf’s 14 wins in Townsend’s senior season of 2004-05 were the program’s most since 1990-91.
Following graduation, he earned his MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School. Townsend is currently a senior engineering manager at Target Corporation, where he has worked in information technology since 2005.
