His six rushing touchdowns against Carleton on Nov. 11, 2000 still stand as a MIAC record for points in a game.
He was also an accomplished receiver out of the backfield. His 73 career receptions are 20th all-time at St. Olaf and among the top five running backs. Spreigl was a part of a football class that was a combined 5-15 in its first two seasons before going 7-3 in 2000 and 6-4 in 2001.

Spreigl, his wife Rebecca and their daughters Annie and Grace live in his hometown of South St. Paul, Minn., where he is a teacher and high school football and track and field coach.
