Nicole Hess, an All-American and four-time All-MIAC selection, was a middle blocker for the Ole volleyball program. Hess, a Morristown, Minn. native, was a four-year letter winner and three-time team captain for St. Olaf. On top of being a four-time All-MIAC honoree, she was also a three-time all-region player. Hess led the Oles to a conference championship and received All- America honors in her final season (2001). She is the St. Olaf and MIAC career kills leader with 2,041. The most efficient hitters in St. Olaf volleyball history, Hess boasts a career hitting percentage of .352 which is a school record. Hess is the head volleyball coach at the College of Saint Benedict, where she has led the Blazers to four straight NCAA tournament appearances. She resides in St. Cloud, Minn. with her husband Paul Hess and three children Taylor (11), Joseph (9) and Andrew (6).
