NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The UW- Stevens Point women's hockey team defeated St. Olaf 7-1 Friday night.
Emily Lester of UW- Stevens Point recorded a hat-trick with the first three goals of the game in the first period. Â The Pointers also recorded goals from Ali Biagini, Rachel Reynard, Jamie Ertl, and Shauna Bollinger. Â The lone goal for St. Olaf came in the seventh minute of the second half by Drue Engelman, with
Jane Vezina and
Sara Lind on with assists.
In goal, Janna Beilke-Skoug made 21 saves for the Pointers and
Cassie Alexander turned away 32 shots for the St. Olaf.
St. Olaf was outshot 39-22 by Stevens Point. Â The Oles were held scoreless on five power play attempts, while the Pointers scored on two of their seven power play opportunities.
St. Olaf will return to Northfield Ice Arena to play UW- Stevens Point on Saturday.
