ST. PAUL, Minn.-
Betsey Daly grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds and added a game-high 18 points as the St. Olaf women's basketball team beat St. Catherine 56-43 Saturday afternoon at Butler Center.
The 20 rebounds are the most by an Ole in the last 16 seasons. The previous high was 16 boards by Christina Sampson in 2007.
Sixteen of Daly's 20 boards came on the defensive end, limiting the Wildcats to just seven second chance points.
St. Olaf (6-8, 3-4 MIAC) led by six points at halftime but the game was tied 18-18 with 5:29 to go in the half.
St. Kate's (7-7, 2-5 MIAC) was held to 25.9 percent (15-for-58) from the field for the game and the Wildcats were just 2-for-12 (16.7 percent) from beyond the arc in the second half.
Woo Bandel was the only other Ole in double-figures as she added 11 points. Bandel also dished out a game-high four assists.
The Oles return to action Wednesday when they travel to take on conference-leading St. Thomas at 7 p.m.
