Box ScoreSTEVENS POINT, Wis.- UW Stevens Point claimed a 5-4 overtime win over the St. Olaf women's hockey team on Saturday to complete a two-game sweep of the Oles.
Jane Vezina scored twice as St. Olaf fought from 3-0 deficit in the first period to tie the game 4-4 in the final minutes of the third period.
Hannah Forliti scored a goal of her own as well as assisting both of Vezina's goals, while
Kiki Platek became St. Olaf's third goal-scorer of the night off of a power play in the third period.Â
Cassie Alexander made 34 saves, 11 more than Stevens Point goalkeeper Sydney Conley. Alexander was forced to make 14 saves in both the first and third period, keeping St. Olaf in the game and sending the competition into overtime.Â
Stevens Point scored four minutes into overtime via a goal from Logan Harper.
The St. Olaf women will head to St. Peter, Minn., next weekend to face off against MIAC rival Gustavus Adolphus College.
