Photo GalleryNORTHFIELD, Minn. - St. Olaf mounted a second half comeback, but visiting Augsburg College held on for a 50-46 MIAC women's basketball won over the Oles on Wednesday night at Skoglund Center.
Abbey Lugar had 20 points and six rebounds to pace the Auggies (13-9, 8-7 MIAC), who made all four of their free throw attempts in the final 19 seconds to seal the win. The Auggies were 15-for-18 from the charity stripe.Â
Nikki Frogner had 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting while
Betsey Daly had 10 and eight boards for the Oles. Â
St. Olaf (9-13, 6-9 MIAC) trailed by as many as 12 in the second half, but cut the Auggie lead to two five times inside the final six minutes.Â
The game was a near statistical deadlock, with each team making 15 field goals, pulling down 26 rebounds and committing 15 turnovers.Â
St. Olaf plays at Hamline University on Saturday in St. Paul at 1 p.m.Â
