ADRIAN, Mich. - Xandi Swedberg scored twice and Maddy Johnson had a goal and an assist to lead St. Olaf to a 4-1 women's hockey victory over Finlandia University on Friday afternoon in the opening game of the Bruiser Bowl Classic at Adrian College's Arrington Ice Arena.

Johnson scored in the fifth minute for the game's first goal before Swedberg made it 2-0 at 9:46. 

Finlandia's Sierra Meiners scored at 8:48 to get within a goal. But Swedberg had another tally, with 48 seconds left in the first period, to give the Oles a 3-1 lead into the first intermission. 

The other St. Olaf goal came from Riley Anderson, on an assist from Megan Skelly, at 12:04 of the first.

The win snapped a six-game skid and was the Oles' (1-9-1) first win of the year. St. Olaf will play host Adrian on Saturday. Finlandia (0-12-0) will play Manhattanville.
