ST. PAUL, Minn. - A goal by Nicole Palsgrove in the 79th minute broke a 1-1 tie as the Wildcats defeated the St. Olaf women's soccer team by a score of 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Butler Center.
Hannah Okerstrom opened the scoring for St. Kates (7-2-1, 2-1-1 MIAC) in the 54th minute with a deflection off of a rebound. Â
Abby Stets tied the game for the Oles with an assist from
Mackenzie Schoustra who crossed the ball across the box and Stets finished from the opposite side. Â St. Olaf (6-4-0, 3-3-0 MIAC) was behind in shots (24-11) and corner kicks (7-3), but strong goalie play by
Julie Johnson kept them in the game. Â Johnson made nine saves on eleven shots faced. Â
The Oles play next at home next Saturday against Saint Marys' University at Rolf Melby Field.
