Jake Mathison went 3-for-4 with three RBI as St. Olaf defeated Union College 6-1 in the second half of a non-conference baseball doubleheader on Sunday. Union won the opener 7-2 behind a 17-strikeout performance from Jake Fishman.
Game One: Union 7, St. Olaf 2Fishman scattered eight hits and walked none in the complete game victory. Josh Faber was 3-for-3 and Fitzsimmons went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI in the victory.
Jake Ossell and
Nate Bauer were each 2-for-3 in the loss for St. Olaf.
Game Two: St. Olaf 6, Union 1Mathison and
Tim Maus (2-for-3) had multi-hit games as St. Olaf scored two in the second and fourth innings.
Kade Cronin threw six innings, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out seven to get the win.
