FORT MEYERS, Fla. - Manchester University defeated St. Olaf twice on Sunday, 5-4 and 11-7, in the Oles' season opener.
Game One: Manchester 5, St. Olaf 4The Spartans scored a run on an RBI double in the eighth inning to break a 4-4 tie.
Macy Vosbeek went 3-for-3 and
Emily Carr 2-for-3 in their debut to lead St. Olaf. Vosbeek doubled and drove in two runs while Carr scored twice. St. Olaf tied the game in the bottom of the sixth on a
Stephanie Borndale RBI single.
Game Two: Manchester 11, St. Olaf 7Four St. Olaf errors in the second inning helped Machester (6-2) score seven times in the frame and complete the two-game sweep. Laurren Ladwig went 2-for-4 with four RBI for the Spartans.
