NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf baseball team had fourteen hits and five doubles to defeat Macalester College in game two, 10-3, in a MIAC doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Mark Almli Field. Macalester won the first game 12-0.
Game 1: Macalester 12, St. Olaf 0
Thomas Peterson was 2-for-3 with a double.
Kap Davis was the only other Ole to get a hit in the game, he went 1-for-3.
Macalester's Collin Brantner went 4-for-4 leading the Scots to victory with two homeruns and a stolen base. Macalester had 14 hits and held St. Olaf to just three.
Nate Gelle pitched six innings allowing seven earned runs.
Game 2: St. Olaf 10, Macalester 3
After getting down 2-0 in the first inning, St. Olaf had a five run third inning to go ahead 5-2. The Oles allowed just one more run after that and scored five more to secure the split.
Kap Davis went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Oles in game two.
Joe Keiski was also 3-for-4 with a double and two runs.
Nate Bauer hit a double as well, and stole two bases with two runs.
Thomas Peterson pitched five innings and had three strikeouts to get the win.
Nate Marshall worked the last four innings for the save allowing zero earned runs and striking out one.
