Makenna Ash had 10 points and 12 rebounds to lead St. Olaf, but Calvin College pulled away for a 52-38 women's basketball victory over the Oles at Carleton's West Gym on Friday in the first day of the College Town Classic.
Samantha Tisa added 11 points and eight rebounds for the Oles (1-4), who struggled from three-point range in the loss. St. Olaf was 1-for-18 from the arc and made just 13 field goals.Â
Calvin wasn't much better. The Knights were 5-of-27 from long range and made 15 field goals.Â
Bre Luurtsema had a game-high 13 points for Calvin (2-2), while Rachel Warners had nine points and 11 rebounds.Â
The Oles led by three, 17-14, after the first quarter and were within five at halftime (32-27) and six (38-32) heading to the fourth. St. Olaf then missed eight of its first nine field goal attempts in the final quarter.Â
