Oles skate to 1-1 tie with Tommies

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - St. Olaf skated to a 1-1 MIAC women's hockey tie with the University of St. Thomas on Friday at Northfield Ice Arena.

Abbey Smith scored the Oles' goal on an assist from Annie Pumper at 2:42 of the first period. That score held until the Tommies' Becca Zarembinski tied the game with 14:58 to play in the third. 

Cassie Alexander made 36 saves to pull in a well-earned save. 

UST held a 37-17 edge in shots. 

The teams will finish the series tomorrow in Mendota Heights.
