NORTHFIELD, Minn. - After making a game-tying layup in the final moment of regulation time,
Samantha Tisa made another with four seconds left in overtime to give the St. Olaf women's basketball team (3-11, 1-6 MIAC) a 60-59 conference win over Macalester (5-8, 2-5 MIAC) on Wednesday at the Skoglund Center.
The Oles trailed 33-25 at the half after the Scots' Grace Dickman landed a half-court shot as time expired. In that first frame, Macalester shot 37.5 percent from the field. That percentage dropped to 23.1 in the second as St. Olaf outscored the Scots 27-19. The Oles shot 39.3 percent in the first half and 40.7 percent in the second.
Tisa led St. Olaf with 20 points, shooting 9-for-14 from the field.
Makenna Ash earned a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Allyson Fuller took all of her shots from three-point range, going 4-for-7 to net 12 points.
Regan Fruh and Leah Gray each scored 11 points to lead the Scots, with Fruh adding 11 rebounds to earn a double-double.
The win is the first for the Oles this season against MIAC opponents.
Next up for the Oles is a road game at the University of St. Thomas on Saturday.
