Emily Carr went 5-for-8 with a homer and
Julie Graf tossed a combined 10 2/3 scoreless innings as the St. Olaf softball team swept Bethany Lutheran College 7-0 and 7-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Dundas Dome.
Game One: St. Olaf 7, BLC 0
Carr was 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI while Graf tossed a complete game shutout, striking out 14 and walking two.
Kate Arneson added a 2-for-4 effort at the plate while
Ally Bode was 1-for-2 with two runs and two walks.
Leading 2-0, the Oles erupted for five runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by Carr's three-run blast.
Game Two: St. Olaf 7, BLC 1
Car was 2-for-3 and
Abby Grismer 1-for-3 with three RBIs as the Oles completed the sweep with the 7-1 win, which was cut short by escalating travel conditions outside the Dome.
Graf relieved Grismer, who went 1 1/3 innings, allowing a run on two hits and a walk. Graf struck out five and walked none to get the win.
St. Olaf (2-2) scored five times in the fifth inning to overcome a 1-0 deficit.
