Men's track competes at Tomcat Twilight meet

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Competing at St. Thomas University, the St. Olaf men's track and field team began its outdoor season on Thursday night at the Tomcat Twilight meet.

The Oles had a number of top finishes.  Adam Kaiser was the sixth place finisher in the triple jump after bounding 13.09 meters.  Kaiser was also 10th in the 100 meter dash running 11.42.  Ayodele Bandele was 8th in the event running 11.34.

Ben Scott and Oliver wood both had a strong meet for St. Olaf, each competing in both hurdle events.  In the 110 meter hurdles, Scott was 10th in 16.79 and seventh (57.56) in the 400 meter hurdles.  Wood ran 18.27 and 1:02.91 respectively in the events.

The Oles had a deep showing in the 5000 meters with Thomas Lerdall and Elliot Kadrofske leading the way in fourth and fifth.  Lerdall was 15:01.29 and Kadrofske 15:15.58.  Also breaking 16 minutes were Chris Brenk (15:40.94), Paul Timm (15:49.51), Owen Wright (15:56.93), and Andrew Plumb (15:57.93).  

Keith Ketola and Sean Lonergan both achieved top-40 times in division III competition this season in the 1500, running 3:56.18 and 3:58.67 respectively.

St. Olaf will compete again on Saturday at the Carleton Relays.
