MINNEAPOLIS -
Emily Carr went a combined 5-for-8 with a homer, two doubles and four RBIs as St. Olaf swept an MIAC softball doubleheader with Hamline University, including a 10-inning 6-5 victory in the first game, at Augsburg's Dome late Friday night into Saturday morning.
Game One: St. Olaf 6, Hamline 5 - 10 innings
Carr was 3-for-5 with a game-tying homer in the seventh inning. She drove in three and walked one while
Kate Arneson went 3-for-6 with a run and three stolen bases.
St. Olaf led 2-1 before the Pipers struck for wo in the bottom of the sixth. Carr's homer sent the game to extra innings, where the Oles scored three in the top of the 10th, including the final two on a two-out double by Carr.
Aubree Douglas' two-run blast in the bottom the 10th got HU within one, but
Julie Graf retired the next three to earn the win.
Graf tossed eight of the 10 innings, striking out 12 and walking three.
Game Two: St. Olaf 5, Hamline 1
Graf threw a combined 3 1/3 innings, allowing no hits or runs in the 5-1 victory.
Carr and
Abby Grismer were each 2-for-3. Grismer drove in three and pitched the other 3 2/3 innings to pick up the win.
Blair Tommelein was 2-for-3 with a walk for the Pipers in the loss.
St. Olaf (13-11, 3-5 MIAC) will play Saint Mary's, travel weather permitting, at the Dundas Dome on Sunday at 11 a.m.
