STEVENS POINT, Wis. - Sophomore
Annika Patterson scored her first collegiate goal to give the St. Olaf College women's hockey team the lead, but UW-Stevens Point scored the final four goals of the game to pick up a 4-1 win on Saturday afternoon at Ice Hawks Arena.
Patterson put St. Olaf (0-2-0) on top on the power play at 13:31 of the first period with an unassisted goal, but UW-Stevens Point (2-0-0) scored in each period for the second consecutive day to complete the weekend sweep.
After Patterson's unassisted tally, the Pointers got even after one on a goal by Mary Kremer three and a half minutes later at 17:04. Emma Berthiaume gave UW-Stevens Point a 2-1 advantage after two periods, scoring on the power play at 4:17 of the second.
Fina Magro provided the Pointers with an insurance goal midway through the third at 10:35 before Nicole Neuberger added an empty-net goal in the final minute.
Sophomore
Grace Boswell-Healey made 14 of her 25 saves on the afternoon in the first period. Olivia Schultz tallied 22 of her 27 stops over the final two periods for the Pointers to pick up the win.
St. Olaf hosts Aurora for a two-game series next weekend, beginning with a 7 p.m. puck drop on Friday, Nov. 8.
