K'Lynn Lewis had a game-high 16 points and senior
Ella Skrien reached double figures with 13, but the St. Olaf College women's basketball team fell to No. 22 Augsburg University, 76-61, in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) contest Wednesday evening at Si Melby Hall.
Lewis scored in double figures for the sixth time this season and led St. Olaf (4-4, 1-2 MIAC) with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Skrien shot 6-for-10 from the field on her way to 13 points. Augsburg (7-1, 3-0 MIAC) forced 20 turnovers in the first half and turned them into 23 points to take a 13-point lead at the break on its way to the win.
The Oles cut a 17-point deficit to seven twice in the third quarter but could get no closer. Skrien scored eight of her 13 points in the quarter, shooting 4-for-5 from the field, but the Auggies scored the next five points after St. Olaf got within seven late in the third and led by double figures the rest of the way.

Rachel Kelly each pulled down 10 rebounds for St. Olaf, with Kelly adding seven points and Koenen six. Sophomore
Camryn Scott was a perfect 3-for-3 from the field and 3-for-3 from the free-throw line to contribute nine points.
Augsburg made four-straight shots to take an eight-point lead, 15-7, with 5:45 remaining in the first quarter and pushed its lead to 11, 20-9, on a three-pointer by Arianna Jones with 4:50 to go in the quarter.
An Aiza Wilson three-pointer two and a half minutes into the second gave the Auggies their largest lead of the game at the time at 31-16. Augburg maintained a lead of between 12 and 15 points for the rest of the half and took a 40-27 lead into the locker room after a layup by first year

After trailing 46-29 a little over a minute into the third quarter, St. Olaf went on an 8-1 run to get within 10, 47-37, with 6:41 to go in the quarter. Skrien and Lewis each had two baskets to account for all eight points in the run, as the pair combined for 14 of the Oles' 20 points in the quarter.
With 3:11 left in the third quarter, St. Olaf climbed back within seven of the Auggies, 53-46, after back-to-back baskets from senior

Rachel Kelly. Augsburg extended its lead back to 10 at the end of the quarter when Selena Lor sank a three-pointer in the final seconds of the period.
The Auggies held a double-digit lead the entire fourth quarter, leading by as many as 17 down the stretch. Scott and Lewis each had five points in the final 10 minutes for the Oles.
Jones led three Augsburg players in double figures with 13, while Wilson had 12 and Lor came off the bench to add 11. The Auggies outscored the Oles by 30 from behind the arc, making 12 three-pointers compared to two for St. Olaf.
St. Olaf hosts St. Catherine on Monday, Dec. 9 for a MIAC contest beginning at 7 p.m.
