Makenna Ash had a season-high 25 points, 17 rebounds a block and a steal to lead the St. Olaf women's basketball team in Saturday's 69-58 loss to second place Augsburg University at Si Melby Hall.
Ash went 11-of-16 from the field, including 2-of-3 from three-point range, as the Oles (8-17, 5-13 MIAC) closed the 2018-19 campaign. The double-double was her 17th of the season. She had double-digit rebounds in all but three games this winter and her 326 boards this season tie as the top mark in program history.
Keazha Wubben had 20 points to lead three Auggies (21-4, 16-2) in double figures. Tamira McLemore had 13 and Camryn Speese 11.Â
K'Lynn Lewis added 10 points and six rebounds, while
Keegan Mulvihill had seven points and six boards and
Ella Skrien six points and five assists for the Oles.Â
St. Olaf was within two after the first quarter, but the Auggies used a 14-2 run to open the second quarter and led 38-23 at the half. St. Olaf outscored Augsburg 20-5 in the fourth quarter and closed the game on a 16-1 run, punctuated by an Ash three-pointer.Â
