ST. PETER, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's tennis team was defeated, 9-0, by No. 32 Gustavus Adolphus College in its regular-season finale on Saturday morning at Swanson Tennis Center.
In its first of two matches on the day, Gustavus (18-11, 9-1 MIAC) swept St. Olaf (7-7, 4-6 MIAC) to remain in contention for a share of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) regular season title.
Both teams had already wrapped up spots in next week's MIAC Playoffs. The Oles finished the regular season tied with St. Catherine with 4-6 records in the MIAC, but earned the No. 6 seed by virtue of their 6-3 win over the Wildcats on Apr. 5.
The closest score line of the morning in doubles came at the top spot, where Bri Hartmann/Ginger Valentine topped

Greta Prokosch, 8-4. The Gusties picked up victories of 8-2 at No. 2 doubles and 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.
Nationally-ranked Gustavus dropped just 11 games in six straight-set singles victories.
As the No. 6 seed, St. Olaf will travel to the No. 3 seed in the quarterfinals of the MIAC Playoffs on Wednesday, May 1 at 3:30 p.m. The No. 3 seed will either be Bethel, Gustavus or St. Thomas, depending to the results of other matches this weekend.
