MOORHEAD, Minn. – Senior

Kelly scored 21 of her career-high 27 points in the first half for St. Olaf (3-2, 0-2 MIAC), which trailed by five at the break, but Concordia (3-0, 2-0 MIAC) outscored the Oles by a 50-27 margin in the second half to run away with the win. Six Cobbers scored in double figures in the game, led by Emily Beseman's 20 points and Carlee Sieben's 12-point, 10-assist double-double.
Kelly shot 10-for-15 from the field and 6-for-8 from the free-throw line on the way to surpassing her previous career high of 26 points established in a 63-55 win over St. Catherine University on Jan. 22, 2022. The senior was joined in double figures by classmate
Grace Hegland, who had 13 points on 5-for-6 shooting.
St. Olaf shot a season-best 54.3 percent (25-for-46) from the field but could not overcome 19 turnovers, as Concordia enjoyed a 25-10 advantage in points off turnovers and an 18-0 edge in fast break points.
Beseman and Sieben combined for 14 points in a 19-4 start to the game for the Cobbers over the opening 4:48 of the game. The Oles trailed by as many as 16 in the quarter but whittled their deficit to 10 at 28-18 after 10 minutes on a three-pointer by sophomore
Sarah Tangen with a minute to go.
Four early points from Kelly got St. Olaf within six, 28-22, a minute into the second quarter, but the hosts scored the game's next nine points to open up a 15-point lead. Trailing 37-22, the Oles ripped off an 13-0 run that included seven points from Kelly to make it a two-point game with 3:04 to go in the half and went into the locker room down just five after a Hegland three-pointer in the final minute.
Hegland scored the first seven points of the third quarter for St. Olaf, including a three-point play that brought the Oles within two at 47-45. St. Olaf was down just six, 59-53, with 3:54 to go in the third before Concordia scored eight-straight points – six by Beseman – to re-establish a 14-point cushion. The Cobbers led by at least 12 points for the final 12:27 of the game.
