OWATONNA, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's tennis team began its spring with a 7-2 non-conference victory over Wartburg College on Saturday at West Hills Tennis and Fitness Center.
In its first dual match since a 5-4 win over Concordia-Moorhead on Oct. 7, St. Olaf (2-0) won two of the three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches to top Wartburg (6-4) to start the day. Junior

Emma Clift were all victorious in both singles and doubles in the win over Wartburg.
After the Knights claimed a victory at No. 1 doubles, the Oles registered wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to carry a lead into singles. O'Flaherty and Clark paired for an 8-2 triumph at No. 2 doubles before Spading and Clift posted an 8-5 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Olha Zubarieva started St. Olaf off in singles by dropping just three games in a 6-0, 6-3 win atop the lineup before Spading and O'Flaherty followed by surrendering just two games in their wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively. Clark and Clift also logged straight-set victories in the final two spots in the lineup to wrap up the 7-2 win.
The Oles were scheduled to take on Northwestern College (Iowa) later in the day and but the match had to be called off 30 minutes in due to a double-booking of the facility.
St. Olaf heads to Virginia Indoor Tennis and Pickleball Club for matches against the University of Minnesota Duluth (9:30 a.m.) and the College of St. Scholastica (4:30 p.m.) on Saturday, Feb. 24.
