NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's hockey team finished off a sweep of Concordia-Moorhead with a 3-1 victory to extend its Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) winning streak to four games on Saturday afternoon at St. Olaf Ice Arena.
After falling behind 1-0 inside the first six minutes, St. Olaf (8-8-1, 5-4-1 MIAC) scored twice in quick succession midway through the second period and again in the third to post its second conference sweep in a row. The win over Concordia (3-14-0, 2-8-0 MIAC) ran the Oles' winning streak in the series with the Cobbers to seven games dating back to 2021.

Iona Welsch compiled her first multi-point game of the season by assisting on the game-tying goal and scoring the game-winning goal in the span of 1:48 midway through the second period. First year

Junior
Hannah Fritz completed a weekend where she saved 44-of-45 shots by stopping the final 19 shots the Cobbers generated after the visitors went up a goal early on. Fritz registered 20 saves in the win, while Ashlea Arvidson had 19 in the loss for Concordia. The victory was the 25th of Fritz's career, breaking a tie with Kerry Rollwagen '05 for the most in program history.
Abbey Hardwick gave the Cobbers the lead at 5:41 of the opening, a lead Concordia held until halfway through the second period. Welsch set up Anderson's second goal of the season in a 2-on-1 rush at 9:09 of the middle period before scoring a power-play goal of her own at 10:57 to give the Oles the lead.

Solvei Berg-Messerole set up Welsch's first goal of the season, which came from in front after McConnell tossed the puck towards the net from the right point. Berg-Messerole's assist was her team-leading seventh assist and team-best 13th point this season.
Carfagnini gave St. Olaf an insurance goal at 13:36 of the third period by sliding shot through the legs of Arvidson from the right side off assists from sophomore
Andi Huselid and first year
Avery Shaw, who both picked up their second assists of the season. All three of Carfagnini's goals have come in the last six games.
St. Olaf will open its series against Augsburg University on home ice on Friday, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m.
