ST. PAUL, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's hockey team completed a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) sweep of St. Catherine University with a 3-2 road victory on Friday night at Drake Arena.
Coming off a 2-1 home win on Thursday evening, St. Olaf (5-6-0, 4-2-0 MIAC) claimed another one-goal victory by holding off St. Kate's (6-4-0, 3-3-0 MIAC) in the third period to move into a tie for first place in the MIAC standings with Hamline University. The Oles, who swept the Wildcats for the first time since 2017, have played one more game than the Pipers and two more than third-place Augsburg University and the fourth-place College of Saint Benedict.
Sophomore
Emilie Anderson gave St. Olaf a 1-0 lead with 4:35 remaining in the first period with her fourth goal of the season, scoring off assists from seniors
Emma Heath and
Solvei Berg-Messerole. St. Kate's got the goal back with 15.5 seconds remaining in the period when Rhiannon Ashworth tied it up to send the two teams into the locker room even at a goal apiece.

MaKenna Beaver netted her first goal of the season at the 5:25 mark to put the Oles back on top at 2-1, with sophomore
Bryn Etzell and junior

Molly Terebayza extended St. Olaf's lead to 3-1 after two at 13:04 of the second with a goal set up by Etzell and junior
Andi Huselid.
St. Olaf killed off a St. Kate's power play early in the third period and held onto the 3-1 lead until Paige Loidolt scored an unassisted extra-attacker goal with 1:58 remaining to make it a one-goal game, with the goal coming just 13 seconds after the hosts pulled their goaltender. The Wildcats again pulled their goaltender with 1:33 to go but did not generate a shot on goal, as the Oles held on to complete the sweep. The win came in the 10th game out of 11 this season for St. Olaf that has been decided by a single goal.
Sophomore
Baylyn Shankman made 20 saves to move to 5-3-0 on the season for St. Olaf, while Addie Oettinger totaled 20 saves of her own for St. Kate's. The game included just three minor penalties, with the Wildcats going 0-for-2 on the power play and the Oles 0-for-1.
St. Olaf will be back in action in 2026 with a non-conference game against Aurora University at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9 at St. Olaf Ice Arena.
